Art Nouveau - Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace Budapest

A relaxing stay along the Danube river.

Located just off the Pest side of the Chain Bridge, Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace exudes luxury. It’s no wonder that this 5-star hotel is one of the best hotels in Hungary.

For your next visit to Budapest, I highly recommend that you book a stay here (or at least walk by and enter the lobby) and soak in its beautiful history.

Be sure to look out for all the peacock designs around the hotel. There’s also a stained glass piece that’s not to be missed. You will have to visit to see it!

The Royal Suite was truly delightful!

With a separate bedroom, expansive walk-in closet and bathroom - we felt right at home.

The hotel consists of a total of 179 rooms, with 16 being suites.

Pro tip: if you are travelling with friends or family, you can request for one or two additional connecting rooms.

Spanish-marble-filled bathrooms, plush towels, Diptyque toiletries, and ambient lighting all around. I must admit I was in absolutely no rush to finish getting ready.

Stepping out onto the balcony we were greeted by a direct line of sight of the Chain Bridge.

We could also clearly view the Danube river, the Buda Hills, the Royal Castle and the Fisherman's Bastion.

I enjoyed spending time at Muzsa, the hotel’s bar and lounge. Between sightseeing and ending the night, you could find me here sipping on tea, snacking away or drinking delicious zero-proof drinks.

Additionally, I found it amazing that Muzsa has weekly programming that is carefully curated to feature a variety of local artists. You could also opt in for the Tasting Room and/or Macallan Experience.

FS Budapest did not skimp on amenities! On the fifth and sixth floor, you will find a gym, a lap pool, a hot tub, a sauna, and a steam room.

No Four Season stay would be complete without spending time at the spa. I was invited to experience one of the hotel’s most popular treatments - The Hungarian Moor Mud Therapy.

The treatment was very relaxing and lasted for 120 minutes. To start, thermal mud is applied to the full-body, followed by a facial to detoxify and draw out impurities. The therapist then stepped out, and I took a quick warm shower. The session then continued with a full-body and face massage.

I found the therapist knowledgeable and caring. The pressure was perfect, and it did not feel rushed at all.

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, KOLLÁZS - Brasserie and Bar is located right beside the hotel’s main entrance.

With so many options, my family opted for a number of dishes including, Escargot de Bourgogne, Spicy Octopus & Seared Scallop, Crispy Duck Leg Confit, Foie Gras Terrine, and many more.

My personal favorite was the Lobster Bisque soup with a dash of Hungarian paprika.

Pro tip: on weekdays for lunch there is a 2-course and 3-course business special on top of the a la carte menu.
